This is a question that often comes up among smokers in that can smoking really cause you to gain wrinkles? The experts and researchers that have carried out numerous studies in this area have all concluded that the answer is yes because smoking causes the skin to age prematurely and therefore results in the cause of wrinkles appearing on your skin.

With sun exposure being the top of the list for causing wrinkles, smoking is the second on the list. It stops the absorption of vitamin A and C both of which give the skin protection it needs to prevent it from getting wrinkles early. The reason is mainly due to the fact that the nicotine found in cigarettes promotes the problem of dehydration.

Smoking also narrows the blood vessels that are found inside your body in the farthest most top layer of the skin. This stops the blood flow in the body. And stops it from getting enough oxygen that it needs and important nutrients such as vitamin A. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin. These two fibres are what keep the skin tight and fresh and prevent the skin from wrinkling prematurely.

Also smoking causes the smoker to squint a lot more, and therefore causes irritation around the eyes of the smoker. This will cause the smoker to gain an increase of wrinkles around the eyes. Of course from doing this over a good number of years it will result in the smoker experiencing hallowed cheeks around the mouth. This is from dragging the cigarettes in the mouth.

This also has led to researchers in the area finding out that there is a strong relationship between the wrinkles in the mouth and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as it can cause airflow disruption in the smoker.

Of course aside from the wrinkles that will appear prematurely on your face, the other parts of the body that will experience the problem of wrinkles include the inner arms. Its still a problem even if you keep them covered up.

If you have been smoking for a good number of years it is not common to see that a person in their thirties to have the same amount of wrinkles as somebody that is in their fifties. So how do you stop the process of getting wrinkles prematurely. Well first things first you need to quit smoking, because no matter how much anti ageing cream you use you will not be able to remove the wrinkles that are coming about by the smoking. Of course this nasty habit is going to be hard to get rid of and it should be done slowly for it to be done with permanently.

Failing to plan is the same as planning to fail. You would not go into battle without a battle plan. In the same way, you wouldn’t take on the challenge of quitting smoking without a plan. Here is some advice for developing a plan to successfully quit smoking, that works for you.

Pick a day of personal significance. Many people pick New Years Day. This day has some significance to everyone because it is the beginning of a new calender year and many people pick this to start the year off on the right foot. Although it is no different from the last, it feels different. You don’t have to, nor should you, wait until the end of the year to quit. Pick something closer like a birthday, anniversary, or some other day special to you. Having this day will make your quit day seem more momentous and increase your chances of success.

After you pick the day, take a piece of paper and write down all the reason you want to quit smoking. Make sure you include all of the health, family, financial, and other reason you have. Write as neat and clear as possible. Then carry that piece of paper around with you everywhere for a reminder when the quitting gets tough.

Find a supportive product you are comfortable with. Much of your quitting is pure will power because there is no product out there that can actually make you stop smoking, but many that can make quitting easier. There are very effective natural products like Quit Tea, pharmaceutical products like bupropion and Chantix, also many types of nicotine replacement products. It is important to have some type of support, something to give you the confidence that you can do this.

Begin an exercise routine and stick to it. Some form of exercise everyday is important to improve your health, increase your energy, and deal with the increased stress that goes with nicotine withdrawal. If you only walk for 30 minutes a day that is great. Running, biking, swimming, lifting weights, or yoga are all wonderful and extremely beneficial as well. If there is a gym near by, take the money you would normally spend on cigarettes and join the gym. If you spend $4 a day on cigarettes you could join a really nice gym for $120 a month.

Tell everyone you are going to quit smoking, and find a support buddy. When you talk about something convincingly enough, you start to convince yourself. As you begin talking about anything, that thing starts to manifest itself. So talk about quitting smoking to everyone you meet. Also, the buddy is important. Make sure you find someone in your life that is supportive of your decision, a non-smoker (obviously), and available to chat with you anytime for the next couple months.

The night before your quit day do a thorough check of your house, car, office, and anywhere else you might be, and throw out anything that has to do with smoking. This is very, very important. Gather up your cigarettes, matches, lighters, ash trays, papers, pipes, cigars, bongs, tobacco pouches… whatever you might have around, and ceremoniously throw them in the trash. Maybe dump something disgusting on them to make sure you don’t dig these items out the next day.

Then finally on quit day, and for the next few weeks, make sure you are good to yourself. Buy yourself a funny box set of a t.v. show you have been wanting to watch, and watch an episode everyday. You are doing something difficult, you need to reward yourself.

For over fifty years now the government and healthcare agencies have been warning us of the dangers of smoking. Despite this call to action, smoking remains prevalent in over 20% of our population. Everyone from high school dropouts to sophisticated corporate movers and shakers with MBAs from Harvard School of Business smoke. Even professional athletes and doctors have been known to smoke. So what will it take to convince people that smoking is something so bad that they should finally just lay them down and quit?

Please consider the following list as an outline for an argument against those who think the ill-effects of smoking are just made-up diatribe used to take a person’s right away from them.

1. Lung Cancer

An estimated 90% of all lung cancer is related to smoking. One would think, that should be enough to convince someone to stop smoking. But many may hear this message for the first time after they’ve already smoked for 40 years. They may think they are past the point of stopping smoking. However, studies have shown a reduced risk for lung cancer when people stop smoking. For those who quit smoking for 10 years, the risk is 30-50% less than current smokers. Also, if you have quit for 15 years, the risk may be 80-90% less than current smokers.

2. Cardiovascular

A literature review found a reduction of coronary heart disease risk by 36% in people who had stopped smoking.This is a slightly better risk reduction for the heart than is seen with other heart disease interventions such as taking cholesterol lowering medications or aspirin. So, for those who smoke and take a statin drug, why not lower your risk another 30% or so and stop smoking?

3. Lung Disease

Studies also show the progression of lung disease (COPD/emphysema) is slowed after someone stops smoking. The earlier the smoker quits, the less damage they’ll have. This translates to a better quality of life with less dependence on medications and therapy. This would include using inhalers, nebulizers, oxygen and perhaps even non-invasive ventilation (CPAP). The key here is the debilitating lifestyle seen in people who suffer from COPD. Often they do not leave their house, rely on others for activities of daily living like bathing, cooking, etc. Interestingly, for those who smoke and cough a lot, former smokers also report less coughing and phlegm (mucous) after one year.

4. Pregnancy

Nicotine has extremely negative affects on the baby as it is easily transmitted through the mother’s bloodstream. It is also carried in the breast milk of a nursing mom. Their unborn child gets the best stop smoking benefit. Women who smoke typically have lower birth-weight babies (less than 5.5 lbs), and those babies are 2-3 times more likely to die from SIDS than babies born to non-smokers. When babies are born too early, they may be developmentally and physically challenged. Finally, smoking can double your risk for bleeding too much during delivery. This puts both you and your baby at risk.

5. Oral Hygiene

Everybody wants that Hollywood smile; perfectly white teeth, healthy gums and a winning set of chompers. Isn’t life great when you don’t have to worry about your teeth. Who dreads going to the dentist when they know a lot of work has to be done? I know I do. Well, smoking can have tremendous affects on periodontal health. Oral lesions can quickly turn cancerous if not detected early. Oral cancer is a growing concern for many dental professionals and has become a priority for the American Academy of Periodontology. Smoking also worsens tooth decay and periodontal disease, as well as, causes stains and offensive breath. Treatment plans that involve periodontal surgery are exacerbated by the slow healing times found in smokers. Luckily, smoking and other tobacco cessation results in immediate oral health benefits, such as reduction in oral cancer rates and periodontal disease.

Here are just 5 benefits to stop smoking. We haven’t even touched on the many other benefits. In fact, we have 66 reasons to stop smoking listed on our website for those who are still not convinced.

Don’t be a statistic, get the stop smoking help you need to make the best decision of your life. Find information on all the stop smoking aids, how to stop withdrawal cravings and maybe even find other resources that will help you to finally stop smoking.

If you are wondering how long will cravings last, you need to be aware that there are a number of issues unique to you that will determine the time frame. Before I help you discover the answer to that question, let me first congratulate you on your decision to quit smoking. You may find that your decision to quit smoking will rank as one of the most important, self empowering life changing decisions you have ever made.

How severe the cravings you personally experience in the very near and distant future are, depends entirely upon what steps you’ve taken to address the psychological reasons that have kept you addicted to smoking. As you will learn, nicotine is not the cause of your addiction, nor is it the source of future cravings to take up smoking again.

Once you successfully eliminate nicotine from your body, which is a mere 72 hour process, any cravings or urges to smoke again that you experience from that point forward are related to psychological causes not to nicotine dependency.

Step number one:

To successfully quit smoking, you need to identify your root psychological need to smoke. What’s the payoff? Is it to relax? Overcome stress? Or simply the need to do something with your hands when you’re nervous or bored for instance?

Whatever the root cause is, finding it and effectively dealing with it is going to be your key to quitting, as well as determining how severe your cravins will be. Try to think back upon the time when you first started smoking. What made you decide that you wanted to smoke? Rest assured, it wasn’t a need to fill your body with nicotine. You had a specific reason to experiment with smoking and why you believed smoking would be a pleasurable thing for you to do. That’s where you need to start looking for your root psychological cause.

As thousands of successful ex-smokers have learned, it is important to first discover the real cause behind your smoking addiction before you can find a suitable method to quit smoking. Then you’ll want to find a method that will help you quit with the least amount of stress and resistance imaginable. The method you choose must fit your temperament, your life style, and the amount of will power you believe you possess.

Once you find a method that you are comfortable with you can move to the second step in quitting smoking.

Step number two:

To successfully quit smoking as fast and painlessly as possible, you must completely eliminate nicotine from your body as fast as possible. Which also means: Do not attempt to quit smoking using any nicotine replacement product or designer quit smoking drug. You don’t need them to quit. Anyone can get through the most difficult 3 days of quitting using any of the hundreds of tips found on major authority quit smoking websites. Trust me, that really is the hardest part of quitting, and yet it is paradoxically the easiest part.

I’m not just spouting theory here. I’ve been in your shoes. Like thousands of others who tried and failed, I tried to quit many times before I finally learned how easy quitting really can be once you discover a few things about nicotine and about yourself.

In my case, I quit smoking by using a hypnosis technique called NLP (Neuro-Linguistic-Programming) in 1985 after having been a 3 pack a day chain smoker for many of my 18 years of smoking addiction. Through the use of NLP, I was able to do three things that allowed me to become a non smoker in 3 days.

First, NLP helped me identify my psychological keys.

Second, it allowed me to program my subconscious to be a successful non smoker after 3 days of being nicotine free.

And third, it helped me eliminate all the psychological baggage that would have caused serious cravings long after nicotine was out of my system.

NLP hypnosis can do the same for anyone truly committed to quitting. I never again experienced a single craving to smoke, once I achieved my pre-programmed 3 day set point thanks to NLP.

You won’t have to have another craving either, once you program your own set point.

However, the time frame for completely giving up your cravings is completely up to you. You are unique among all the other smokers in the world who want to quit smoking. You may share the same psychological reasons for smoking as many others, but you are still quite unique. How you are programmed subconsciously may be similar to everyone else, but your means of accessing and changing your subconscious programs is completely unique to you.

So, whether you arbitrarily choose 3 days or 3weeks as your set point, if you successfully program yourself to have a specific date that your cravings will end, they will be magically gone on that day!

Once again, congratulations on your decision to quit smoking! Success is as close as you want it to be. Click here to learn how to quit smoking cigarettes right now! http://tamethesmokingdragon.com

There has been a lot written about the side effects of quitting smoking. These side effects come about because when you quit smoking, your body goes through a process of detoxification. It is looking to get rid of all the poisons that you have been putting into your body from cigarette smoke for all your smoking years.

As you read through this article you will find out the side effects when you decide to quit smoking. But they are meaningless unless you have something to compare it to. That is always what we do with information. We compare it to other things that we know or learn. And in that comparison we then make decisions on what to do. So I’ve included some important additional information for comparison.

Some of the common nicotine withdrawal symptoms are:

* Irritability
* Anxiety
* Difficulty concentrating
* Insomnia
* Restlessness
* Increased appetite

Irritability – Have you ever watched a little baby fidget and then get cranky and then start to have a fit? What did mom do? As you watched her she gave the baby a pacifier and the baby calmed right down didn’t they?

Cigarettes have become your adult pacifier. And when that pacifier is taken away from you, you’ll probably become cranky too. It’s only a passing phase. Because you are an adult now you can use knowledge to eliminate that response totally. Those who use hypnosis to quit smoking usually don’t experience irritability because they’re feeling so happy to be free of cigarettes.

Anxiety is the result of being in unfamiliar territory. You don’t know what to expect. Things that are familiar are safe. And you can understand that when you’ve spent so long smoking, it’s become familiar and safe to you. The irony is that smoking isn’t safe at all. It’s like driving a car at 100 MPH. It’s just the illusion of safety that you’ve developed.

Difficulty concentrating is the result of nicotine leaving your body. The good news is that nicotine is leaving your body rapidly. And it’s as if there’s a little man inside of you jumping up and down yelling that nicotine supplies are running low and you need to replenish. So this is just a distraction that causes a temporary loss of focus. This symptom doesn’t have to have an effect on you. I’ll tell you how to avoid it further down in this article.

I believe that insomnia results from loss of safety. When you’re not safe the protective part of you doesn’t allow you to sleep so that you can be ready for any dangers that might pop up. Your safety pacifier has been taken away and it might take a little bit of time to adjust. Only if you don’t know how to avoid this withdrawal effect completely, that is.

Restlessness. Now this is funny. Smokers are far more restless than other people. Every time you see a smoker you know you’re seeing a very nervous person. Someone who doesn’t know what to do with themselves when they want to relax, or be by themselves. If they aren’t being active, most likely they need a cigarette. So when they put away the cigarettes for good, all that restlessness comes out to play. It’s now time for them to learn what that feeling is from and how to take care of it. And this too can be totally avoided and I’ll show you how in just a bit.

And finally we come to increased appetite. Nicotine is a stimulant. It speeds up metabolism, it suppresses appetite, it deadens the taste buds and your sense of smell. When you stop smoking you might also have a need to put something into your mouth. You can certainly find something other than food and tobacco to occupy your mouth can’t you?

All of these side effects can be avoided or lessened by using hypnosis to quit smoking. Because not everyone experiences withdrawal side effects when they quit. And if one of us can stop smoking without withdrawals then all of us can. And using hypnosis to quit smoking can help you to be free of smoking without withdrawals and side effects.

Now compare those minor withdrawal symptoms with one of the side effects of smoking. DEATH. Smoking causes:

* 90% of all lung cancer deaths in men
* 80% of all lung cancer deaths in women
* 90% of deaths from chronic obstructive lung disease

So next time you think about quitting and you’re dissuaded by the thought of withdrawal symptoms, start to think about the consequences of not quitting.

Here’s the way you can avoid the withdrawal symptoms I promised you. You probably know that hypnosis to quit smoking can help you avoid nicotine withdrawal altogether. I also mentioned comparison is why we store information in the first place. Using the comparison of smoking to not smoking is how you can avoid withdrawal from smoking. Hypnosis makes it quick and dramatic, but you can program yourself for success just by focusing on what you are gaining now that you’ve decided to quit and not on what you are losing.

And I invite you to learn how to use hypnosis to quit smoking for free. All the information you need to regain control is in my free ebook, stop smoking hypnotherapy. There are techniques that could help you to use self hypnosis to stop smoking on your own. It’s available at HypnoticState.com. It’s the same information that was published in the book I co-wrote, Real World Hypnosis, Insider Tips From Leading Hypnotists, that’s for sale on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other booksellers.

You hear on TV over and over again how hard it is to quit smoking naturally. These commercials are designed to make smokers afraid to quit smoking without Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).

The use of nicotine patches and gums took off after the 1988 U.S. Surgeon General’s report on Nicotine Addiction. Yet, few realize that this same report stated that 90% of smokers “spontaneously remit” from smoking and many have no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever.

Let’s face it, we all know smokers who’ve thrown the pack away and never smoked again. But science can’t explain this phenomena. “So instead, science focuses on NRT even though experts in the field admit that 93% of NRT users are back to smoking is 6 months!” *

I’ve interviewed hundreds of smokers. And very few have used NRT to successfully quit. Basically, here are the 5 most common ways that natural quitting occurs:

* Hitting bottom
* Some random event, well-spoken advice or challenge
* Sheer willpower
* Reading the right book or
* A complete change of mind about smoking itself (that makes quitting easy)

Basically, the #1 way smokers really quit is proper mindset. And it’s quite clear that once a smoker is mentally ready, nicotine addiction rarely stands in the way.

So, if you’re trying to quit, you have a powerful decision to make… you can continue to believe the “nicotine myth” or you can get mentally prepared and quit naturally. The success of millions proves that proper mindset is really how to stop smoking for the last time.

George Wissing is author of the book, “Stop Smoking for the Last Time”. He offers education, tools and free information on natural quitting on his website http://www.quit-smoking-made-easy.com.

You probably already know that the major risk of smoking is that you are far more likely to die than if you didn’t smoke. So big deal right? that’s a long way off anyway. So what if smoking causes:

* 90% of all lung cancer deaths in men

* 80 % of all lung cancer deaths in women

* 90% of deaths from chronic obstructive lung disease

So what! You can live your life in comfort until you get one of those diseases. No big deal right? I know that’s probably not really you talking, at least right now. You’re reading this so you’re searching for solutions and answers. But you might have had that kind of cavalier attitude at one time. Stick with me here because there’s a happy ending.

What about respiratory problems. You know you might not immediately die from a respiratory problem. You might be inconvenienced. So when your kids or grand kids are running around you might not be able to keep up. Maybe you won’t be able to walk up a flight of stairs to use the bathroom because you can’t breath from the exertion.

So what are the respiratory problems you get from smoking? Well I did mention that smoking causes lung cancer. Smoking also causes:

* Emphysema

* Bronchitis

* Chronic airway obstruction

And these problems will stay with you. We need to breath in order to survive. When you develop a respiratory problem it stays with you all the time. Think about how many times a minute you breath in and breath out. Right now you probably don’t have to be conscious of it. It happens 12 – 20 times per minute. And when you have trouble breathing your focus becomes forced to your breathing. You will have difficulty focusing on anything else. And if you have to lug around an oxygen tank with you everywhere, well that’s a whole new level of involvement in your breathing.

Now compare that to the side effect of withdrawal that’s reported by some smokers who quit:

* Irritability

* Difficulty concentrating

* Insomnia

* Restlessness

I think if you are forced to focus on your breathing 12-20 times a minute, you will have extreme difficulty concentrating, wouldn’t you? And how can you sleep if you can’t breath? Do you think that would make you irritable? Do you think you’d be restless if you couldn’t breath? You probably wouldn’t be able to take much action if you were restless though.

So if you are putting off quitting smoking because you don’t want to experience the side effects of quitting, think about the side effects of not quitting. You aren’t going to escape the side effects by avoiding quitting. You’re just going to put them off until there’s nothing you can do about them and they won’t go away until you’re dead.

Here’s the happy ending. First off, not every smoker goes through the withdrawal and I’ll tell how some people don’t have withdrawal in a moment. Even if you tried to quit and felt the withdrawal you aren’t locked into feeling it every time you quit. And even if you do have a withdrawal feeling it’s only temporary. It lessens and goes away in time. Unlike the problems you’ll have if you develop a disease as a result of your smoking.

People who don’t feel the withdrawal have associated the early onset of those withdrawal sensations with a pleasant feeling of some kind. Every feeling we have develops over time. As the first inkling of that feeling starts, even before we are consciously aware of the feeling, we can develop a more positive response. And that’s how to avoid feeling withdrawal altogether.

And I invite you to learn how to use hypnosis to quit smoking for free. Avoid withdrawal from smoking completely.

If you’re single and smoke today you’re about to learn a very big reason why single men should not smoke. Yes today I’m going to give you a very good reason to stop and the solution for how to stop. You may say you don’t care what anybody thinks, but come on, down deep we both know better. Let’s talk about love and how smoking affects your love life.

If you’re single and like dating, romance and sex than you need the facts. First of all smoking limits the type of women available to you. Smoking is no longer considered to be acceptable unless of course she smokes too. Do you really want to limit your playing field to smoking women? If so stop here, but if you want a chance at the non smoking hotties read on. Plus if you’re interested in how smoking lowers you libido and makes you less of a lover read on.

Keep in mind that women are thinkers, we all know this. They think about things deeply and get the facts. So everything your about to learn they already know and once they learn you smoke your phone number is headed for the trash. Women don’t do this to be mean they just naturally have to educate themselves because in the back of every women’s mind is the thought that one day she might become pregnant and be responsible for the health and well being of the life growing inside her. Not to mention sex, women love sex just as much as men do if…it’s worth it.

Smoking has been shown to create problems having and maintaining a healthy erection. The number one complaint women have about sex is that it doesn’t last long enough. If you’re ending it quickly this is a problem. A lover soon looses interest in a smoker who can’t satisfy them. There is nothing more frustrating for a chic than to have it end to quick leaving them unsatisfied.

A few other reasons women don’t like to date guys who smoke;

NOTE: You can not cover up that smell
• Smokers smell and often add to the problem by wearing a lot of cologne to hide it.
• If you smoke you don’t smell it, but everyone else does.
• Bad Breath, smoking gives you bad breath, again nothing covers that up.
• Stained teeth, it stains your teeth, dries out your mouth, lips, and affects kissing!
• Stains your hands, and gives your skin a dried out ashy appearance.
• The health risk, who wants a partner that could get cancer, stroke or heart attack.
• Restricted blood flow from smoking makes for poor sex performance.

I did a recent survey with single girl friends, ironically none of them smoke. Out of the ten none said they would date a guy who smokes. So ask yourself, “do I really want to narrow my playing field for something that is not good for me in so many other ways?”

How To Quit
1) My Mom swears by adding a 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar to a glass of orange juice every morning.
2) The orange juice/cream of tartar drink cuts the urge to smoke.
3) Talk to your doctor about it, there are several drugs available to help.
4) Research online for helpful hints and tips.
5) Join forums for those trying to quit for advice just when you want it, not when you don’t

Do yourself a favor and at least give quitting a try. Like my grandpa used to say, “It ain’t worth doing if you don’t do it right.” Why not do your love life right!

Here is what I’ve got; an interactive website with clarity and a free video guide! This is what it will do for you:
1) End the stress and worry by getting down to what’s eating you!

Here’s what I want you to do!
Jump over to my site here How To Stop deal with what’s eating you and get what you need to further your success!

When anyone decides to quit smoking they are beginning a process that involves some very scientific principles that might seem child-like acts. But they all lead to being able to quit smoking effectively. Smoking is a psychological disorder as well as a physical one. Most people will automatically ‘light up’ after a meal because they are used to the act of smoking. Others do feel the pangs of their nicotine addiction and these people are the ones that will find it more difficult to quit smoking.

However, to say that it is impossible to stop smoking would be wrong and it would send out the wrong signals to those who are finding it already difficult to stop smoking. We would say that the process of smoking cessation is long but it is not impossible to achieve. To begin with it is important to set a date by when you will try to quit smoking. It is really necessary to set achievable dates. But not being able to achieve the goal is no excuse to take up smoking once again. This is a losers mentality to give up easily.

Once you have set your dates you should tell all your friends and relatives that you want to stop smoking. They are the most important help you can get. It is important to drill lit into your smoker buddies that you intend to quit and do not let them laugh you out of your intentions. They are most likely to do so because they cannot do what you are about to do – quit smoking. However, if you can convince some of theme to join you in your challenge there is nothing like it. Make sure you earnestly request them not to smoke in your presence nor leave their smokes lying around as this will only entice you to pick up a cigarette once again.

You are going to need all the will-power you can get. So ask your friends and relatives to help you as much as they can. You will also need to remove anything in your home and office that reminds you of smoking or even suggests it. Remove the ashtrays, cigarettes, lighters and pictures that even remotely suggest smoking to you. You need to stop thinking of lighting up completely if you want to stop smoking.

You may need some psychological helps from other things as well. It will help if you kept a pack of gum in your pocket and popped on every time you felt like a smoke. Popping a lollypop after meals is a great way to keep from putting anything else in your mouth.

Mint is another great way to keep the smoking pangs at bay. Some people have not been able to keep their minds completely off smoking and so they need props like make-believe cigarettes that they keep in their lips. They also need some help in the form of nicotine gum and skin patches if their nicotine addiction is really serious. But, quit smoking they will. However, it’s not always because of will power.

If you want to stop smoking you should try out the latest program designed to achieve smoking cessation completely. Visit stopsmokingquitforever.com, and be surprised how much you can gain.
