Be Successful At Quitting Smoking

If you are looking to stop smoking, you should consider using hypnosis to help you to stop.
Hypnosis to Quit Smoking Makes It Easy To Stop Smoking

The first thing you need to do is to stop listening to the so called experts that have programmed you to fail. You have heard it before, that quitting smoking is hard to do. That is a bold faced lie, meant to perpetuate your dependence on cigarettes. If you believe it will be hard to stop smoking, then it will be. So get rid of the notion that quitting is hard. I know it’s not hard because people quit every single day. I stopped smoking over 30 years ago and have never looked back.

Hypnotherapy Stop Smoking Provides Good Quit Smoking Tips

What you need to get started is some good quit smoking tips. So first things first. You need to start thinking about all the reasons that you no longer want to smoke. Write them down, make your list up first. You don’t have to do it all at one sitting. Actually, after you write your initial list of reasons you want to quit, you’ll start to notice a whole lot of other things that qualify as reasons to stop smoking. And when you do, write them down too and add them to your list.

Once you have your list and you start to feel that this is something that is important for you to do, and that you are serious to quit cigarettes, then start to look around for help. One of the best stop smoking aids, is a visit to a hypnotist. There are other choices as well, like nicotine replacement, and drug therapy. Check around to see which way is right for you.

Smoking Cessation Hypnosis Uses Your Natural Abilities

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that almost all of us experience every day. It’s a familiar state that we usually haven’t yet learned to take advantage of. That’s where the stop smoking hypnotist comes into play. It is the job of the quit smoking hypnotist to teach you how your mind works and to reprogram it to do the things that are most important to it. That’s the territory of your protective mind. And since you have made a real and personal list of all the reasons you want to quit smoking, your mind is now ready to accept the powerful suggestions for change that your stop smoking hypnosis provider will supply.

If you ever considered stopping smoking, you might have considered hypnosis to quit smoking too. You probably already know that hypnosis has a reputation for helping smokers become nonsmokers very quickly and without drugs, withdrawals and side effects. But did you know why hypnosis is so very effective? I will explain it very simply for you here.

Hypnosis is about communicating with the part of your mind that stores all of your feelings as well as habitual behaviors. That is your subconscious mind. Combine that with the fact that most people smoke either because of habit or because of emotions, and you can probably see how a tool that can access both of those parts of you can be so very effective.

Let me talk about your feelings for a moment. Feelings are a way of communicating things. In fact your subconscious tells you things with your feelings. That is one of the ways the subconscious communicates with you, through your feelings.

Take something like sadness, that is your subconscious telling you that you lost something or somebody. Maybe you are asking, so what good is that? Well, it is your subconscious mind looking to rectify the situation by nudging you along to go and find what it is that you lost or replace it. Because it is something that your subconscious has figured you must need. So it is a protective measure.

Now hypnosis, being that powerful agent for communicating with your subconscious, can go in there and change your feeling responses. The mistaken previous programming or outdated responses. That would be the programming that you mistakenly installed when you decided to become a smoker.

How does that figure into the smoking habit? Well one example is, if you have been smoking for awhile, you probably have quite a number of emotions connected to smoking. Some you might be aware of and others that you are completely oblivious to. If you started smoking when you were a teenager and were hanging around with a bunch of friends that were also smoking, then you have connected all those good and exciting times of being a rebellious teen right along with smoking cigarettes. So every time you light up you get all those positive feelings along with the cigarette.

The good news is that you are not locked into those responses. And you can change them so that you feel differently when you light up. And you can use all those good feelings in a much more effective manner. The only thing that you are lacking is the knowledge of how to change. And that is because nobody ever taught you about your emotions. In fact you were probably told to avoid feeling a certain way. The typical response to a boy child crying is to grow up…become a man! And a girl child that gets angry is told that being angry is unladylike. What is that telling you? That your feelings mean nothing and you can control them with just your thoughts. Well that just is not so.

So with hypnosis to quit smoking you will learn how to really control your emotions properly and develop the healthy habits of a nonsmoker.

Are you tired of the quitting and smoking cycle and are you now ready to quit for good? I invite you to learn how to use hypnosis to quit smoking for free. All the information you need to regain control is in my free ebook, stop smoking hypnotherapy. There are techniques that could help you to use self hypnosis to stop smoking on your own.

There has been a lot written about the side effects of quitting smoking. These side effects come about because when you quit smoking, your body goes through a process of detoxification. It is looking to get rid of all the poisons that you have been putting into your body from cigarette smoke for all your smoking years.

As you read through this article you will find out the side effects when you decide to quit smoking. But they are meaningless unless you have something to compare it to. That is always what we do with information. We compare it to other things that we know or learn. And in that comparison we then make decisions on what to do. So I’ve included some important additional information for comparison.

Some of the common nicotine withdrawal symptoms are:

* Irritability
* Anxiety
* Difficulty concentrating
* Insomnia
* Restlessness
* Increased appetite

Irritability – Have you ever watched a little baby fidget and then get cranky and then start to have a fit? What did mom do? As you watched her she gave the baby a pacifier and the baby calmed right down didn’t they?

Cigarettes have become your adult pacifier. And when that pacifier is taken away from you, you’ll probably become cranky too. It’s only a passing phase. Because you are an adult now you can use knowledge to eliminate that response totally. Those who use hypnosis to quit smoking usually don’t experience irritability because they’re feeling so happy to be free of cigarettes.

Anxiety is the result of being in unfamiliar territory. You don’t know what to expect. Things that are familiar are safe. And you can understand that when you’ve spent so long smoking, it’s become familiar and safe to you. The irony is that smoking isn’t safe at all. It’s like driving a car at 100 MPH. It’s just the illusion of safety that you’ve developed.

Difficulty concentrating is the result of nicotine leaving your body. The good news is that nicotine is leaving your body rapidly. And it’s as if there’s a little man inside of you jumping up and down yelling that nicotine supplies are running low and you need to replenish. So this is just a distraction that causes a temporary loss of focus. This symptom doesn’t have to have an effect on you. I’ll tell you how to avoid it further down in this article.

I believe that insomnia results from loss of safety. When you’re not safe the protective part of you doesn’t allow you to sleep so that you can be ready for any dangers that might pop up. Your safety pacifier has been taken away and it might take a little bit of time to adjust. Only if you don’t know how to avoid this withdrawal effect completely, that is.

Restlessness. Now this is funny. Smokers are far more restless than other people. Every time you see a smoker you know you’re seeing a very nervous person. Someone who doesn’t know what to do with themselves when they want to relax, or be by themselves. If they aren’t being active, most likely they need a cigarette. So when they put away the cigarettes for good, all that restlessness comes out to play. It’s now time for them to learn what that feeling is from and how to take care of it. And this too can be totally avoided and I’ll show you how in just a bit.

And finally we come to increased appetite. Nicotine is a stimulant. It speeds up metabolism, it suppresses appetite, it deadens the taste buds and your sense of smell. When you stop smoking you might also have a need to put something into your mouth. You can certainly find something other than food and tobacco to occupy your mouth can’t you?

All of these side effects can be avoided or lessened by using hypnosis to quit smoking. Because not everyone experiences withdrawal side effects when they quit. And if one of us can stop smoking without withdrawals then all of us can. And using hypnosis to quit smoking can help you to be free of smoking without withdrawals and side effects.

Now compare those minor withdrawal symptoms with one of the side effects of smoking. DEATH. Smoking causes:

* 90% of all lung cancer deaths in men
* 80% of all lung cancer deaths in women
* 90% of deaths from chronic obstructive lung disease

So next time you think about quitting and you’re dissuaded by the thought of withdrawal symptoms, start to think about the consequences of not quitting.

Here’s the way you can avoid the withdrawal symptoms I promised you. You probably know that hypnosis to quit smoking can help you avoid nicotine withdrawal altogether. I also mentioned comparison is why we store information in the first place. Using the comparison of smoking to not smoking is how you can avoid withdrawal from smoking. Hypnosis makes it quick and dramatic, but you can program yourself for success just by focusing on what you are gaining now that you’ve decided to quit and not on what you are losing.

And I invite you to learn how to use hypnosis to quit smoking for free. All the information you need to regain control is in my free ebook, stop smoking hypnotherapy. There are techniques that could help you to use self hypnosis to stop smoking on your own. It’s available at HypnoticState.com.

You probably already know that the major risk of smoking is that you are far more likely to die than if you didn’t smoke. So big deal right? that’s a long way off anyway. So what if smoking causes:

* 90% of all lung cancer deaths in men

* 80 % of all lung cancer deaths in women

* 90% of deaths from chronic obstructive lung disease

So what! You can live your life in comfort until you get one of those diseases. No big deal right? I know that’s probably not really you talking, at least right now. You’re reading this so you’re searching for solutions and answers. But you might have had that kind of cavalier attitude at one time. Stick with me here because there’s a happy ending.

What about respiratory problems. You know you might not immediately die from a respiratory problem. You might be inconvenienced. So when your kids or grand kids are running around you might not be able to keep up. Maybe you won’t be able to walk up a flight of stairs to use the bathroom because you can’t breath from the exertion.

So what are the respiratory problems you get from smoking? Well I did mention that smoking causes lung cancer. Smoking also causes:

* Emphysema

* Bronchitis

* Chronic airway obstruction

And these problems will stay with you. We need to breath in order to survive. When you develop a respiratory problem it stays with you all the time. Think about how many times a minute you breath in and breath out. Right now you probably don’t have to be conscious of it. It happens 12 – 20 times per minute. And when you have trouble breathing your focus becomes forced to your breathing. You will have difficulty focusing on anything else. And if you have to lug around an oxygen tank with you everywhere, well that’s a whole new level of involvement in your breathing.

Now compare that to the side effect of withdrawal that’s reported by some smokers who quit:

* Irritability

* Difficulty concentrating

* Insomnia

* Restlessness

I think if you are forced to focus on your breathing 12-20 times a minute, you will have extreme difficulty concentrating, wouldn’t you? And how can you sleep if you can’t breath? Do you think that would make you irritable? Do you think you’d be restless if you couldn’t breath? You probably wouldn’t be able to take much action if you were restless though.

So if you are putting off quitting smoking because you don’t want to experience the side effects of quitting, think about the side effects of not quitting. You aren’t going to escape the side effects by avoiding quitting. You’re just going to put them off until there’s nothing you can do about them and they won’t go away until you’re dead.

Here’s the happy ending. First off, not every smoker goes through the withdrawal and I’ll tell how some people don’t have withdrawal in a moment. Even if you tried to quit and felt the withdrawal you aren’t locked into feeling it every time you quit. And even if you do have a withdrawal feeling it’s only temporary. It lessens and goes away in time. Unlike the problems you’ll have if you develop a disease as a result of your smoking.

People who don’t feel the withdrawal have associated the early onset of those withdrawal sensations with a pleasant feeling of some kind. Every feeling we have develops over time. As the first inkling of that feeling starts, even before we are consciously aware of the feeling, we can develop a more positive response. And that’s how to avoid feeling withdrawal altogether.

And I invite you to learn how to use hypnosis to quit smoking for free. Avoid withdrawal from smoking completely.

If you are serious about breaking your smoking habit you need a quit smoking plan. Your chances of being successful go way up if you have a plan and do not just quit “cold turkey.” Have a plan.

The decision to stop smoking is one of the smartest you will ever make. Make it count and follow this suggested three step plan to say goodbye to smoking forever.

1) Make the Decision

It sounds simple but this is probably the most important step. Do not go into quitting smoking half-heartedly. You need to know that you want to stop smoking. Many people use a major event in their life; the birth of a child, a move, a health scare, or even the new year to get serious about quitting.

You do not have to wait for a major life event to make the decision to quit. You can make the decision right now. Just make sure you are committed. We are talking about your life here. You need and deserve to be smoke free; commit yourself to it.

2) Beat the Physical Addiction to Nicotine

When you first quit smoking the initial hurdle will be to break your body’s physical addiction to nicotine. This can be hard but keep in mind that it only takes about a week for this addiction to pass. That is about how long it takes for nicotine to pass out of your system.

Use the following tips to get through this week:

* Drink lots of water to help nicotine pass through your system.
* Keep hard candies or healthy snacks around to nibble on when you get an urge to smoke.
* Go for walks or engage in some kind of physical activity to keep your mind off of smoking

3) Conquer the Mental Addiction to Smoking

Over time the act of smoking becomes a psychological addiction; or a habit. Most methods to stop smoking fail because they only address the physical addiction to smoking. But more importantly than breaking the physical addiction is conquering the mental habit to smoke. The mental habit is what causes people to start smoking again years after quitting smoking. Breaking this habit is a key part of your quit smoking plan.

Here are a couple methods that can remove the mental habit to smoke.

* Hypnotherapy-This method puts the recipient into a trance-like state where the practitioner can speak directly to the subconscious mind to help remove the subconscious cravings to smoke. It has proven to be successful but can be expensive as many insurance plans do not cover these sessions.
* NLP-Neuro Linguistic Programming has proven to be a very successful technique to quit smoking. It works like hypnotherapy but is even more successful. In a recent test 5,000 smokers participated in an NLP session to help remove their smoking habit. 97.2% of them were still smoke-free six months later. The good news about NLP is that you can gain its benefits by listening to a recording in your own home. You do not have to see a professional to stop smoking with NLP. It is a great part of any quit smoking plan.

Breaking the mental habit to smoke is the most important key to any quit smoking plan. NLP is simply the most effective way to break the mental addiction to smoking. If you have 38 minutes to listen to a specially formatted NLP recording you have a 97% chance of quitting smoking.
